Artificial intelligence, real results
You don’t need to be first with AI.
But you can’t afford to be last.
Everyone uses ChatGPT or Claude. Almost no one uses it properly. Kodetank helps businesses adopt AI where it actually pays off — in the processes, systems and data you already have.
30 years of coding experience. One job: turning AI into something your business actually profits from.
The problem
Everyone has tried. Few have succeeded.
Most businesses are past the “should we use AI” question. A few employees use ChatGPT for emails and meeting notes. That’s a fine place to start — but it’s not where the money is.
The difference between trying AI and profiting from AI is rarely the tool. It’s how it is connected to your business. That is a craft, not a subscription.
The real gains are in everything that is not a chat-window conversation:
- Case handling that takes hours today and could be done in minutes
- Proposals and reports written from scratch every time, instead of generated from data you already have
- Systems that don’t talk to each other — where AI can be the glue, if it’s built right
- Decisions made on gut feeling, when the data to make them systematically actually exists
Why us
Anyone can learn to write a good prompt. That’s not where the value is.
What decides whether an AI solution actually works in a business are the same questions we have worked on for 30 years as developers:
Where does the data come from — and can we trust it?
AI fed with messy or badly structured data gives messy or wrong answers — faster than any manual process.
How does it connect to the systems you already use?
A standalone chat window solves very little. The value comes when AI is connected to your line-of-business system, customer database or case archive — securely and with the right permissions.
What happens when it goes wrong?
Error handling, logging, privacy and access control are not details you add afterwards. They are the difference between a demo and something that can be run in production.
Can it cope with change?
The business grows, systems are replaced, data changes. Solutions built without architectural understanding quickly become expensive to maintain.
This is not primarily a technical discussion — it’s a business assessment of what is worth automating, and how much risk you are willing to take. But to make that assessment correctly, someone has to understand both the business and what actually happens under the bonnet. That combination is what Kodetank offers.
Services
What we do
Kodetank is a consultancy — you don’t need to hire anyone or buy a platform. We assess, build and train, and we stay for as long as you need us. No longer.
AI strategy and assessment
We go through your processes together with you and point out where AI actually saves time and money — and where it doesn’t. Not everything should be automated.
Implementation
We build the solutions: integrations with your own systems, automation of routine tasks and AI tools tailored to your data and workflows — not generic chatbots.
Training and adoption
A solution only we understand is a bad solution. We train the staff who will use and operate it, so the knowledge stays in the company.
Ongoing support
AI moves fast. We follow up, adjust and are available when something needs developing further or the unexpected turns up.
Local AI
Your documents never leave the building
For many organisations the most important question isn’t what AI can do — it’s where the data ends up. Contracts, customer lists and trade secrets don’t belong in someone else’s cloud.
Kodetank sets up AI that runs on-premise, at your site — open language models on your own hardware. Then one simple rule applies: no documents reach the internet, and nothing is used to train anyone else’s models. Making that work well — the right model, the right hardware, a secure connection to your own documents — is precisely the kind of job that requires experience in coding and operations.
Why local AI?
- Open models on your own hardware — good enough for most real-world tasks
- Works without an internet connection — no dependency on third-party cloud
- GDPR and confidentiality — no third-country transfers, no data processors abroad
- Full control over access and logging — you decide who uses what
Development resources
Hire AI-first developers.
Own the concept and the code.
Building your own application? Kodetank provides experienced developers specialising in AI-first development — from our own offices in Bangkok and Colombo. You get the delivery capacity of an entire development team, at a fraction of the cost. And everything that is built, you own.
Hiring developers today is not what it was just a year ago. AI has taken over large parts of the coding itself — what decides the outcome now is the experience of the person directing it. Our developers work AI-first from day one: AI produces, the developer architects, directs and quality-assures. That’s why you no longer need a full team to deliver a development project — and why the cost can be reduced by up to 90% compared with traditional development.
Up to 90% lower cost
With AI-first development, one experienced resource delivers what required an entire team a year ago. That suddenly makes building your own applications profitable — for smaller companies too.
You own everything
Concept, source code and all rights belong to you in full — contractually, from the start. No licences, no vendor lock-in, no subscription to your own product.
Flexible engagement
By the hour when demand varies, or a dedicated developer for a fixed period — one or three months. Scale up and down with the project, not with a staffing plan.
Norwegian contracting party, our own offices
The developers sit in our offices in Bangkok (Thailand) and Colombo (Sri Lanka) — hand-picked and managed by Kodetank. Contract, follow-up and accountability rest with Kodetank AS in Norway.
Kodetank is the first to offer AI-first development as a service from low-cost countries — backed by 30 years of development experience. Tell us what you want to build, and we’ll set up the right resource.

How we work
Five steps — and the gains should be visible long before the last one.
Conversation
A no-obligation review of where you are today, and where you want to get to.
Assessment
We look at your processes and data and point out the 2–3 places where AI gives the most return for the effort.
Pilot
We build one thing first, on a small scale, so the gain is visible before you invest further.
Roll-out and training
What works is built out and embedded with the people who will use it every day.
Follow-up
We stay on as a technical and business sparring partner — not just a supplier.
Experience
We didn’t learn AI last year
Kodetank comes from 30 years of software development — building, running and evolving systems that are actually used.
We deliberately take on only a few engagements at a time. That means you get experienced people with the time to understand your business properly — not a large consultancy where your project is one of twenty.
Among the products we have built
- Securapp — developed for the Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue (Redningsselskapet)
- Returapp — developed for Skarpnes
- Nabotavle — our own app for Norwegian housing co-operatives and condominiums
- Burger Blitz — a game built AI-first, from idea to finished product
- Kodetank Pulse — a free system monitor for macOS showing CPU, GPU, memory and disk in a small always-on-top window
Who it’s for
Is Kodetank right for you?
Kodetank suits small and medium-sized businesses that:
- know AI is going to matter for their industry, but lack the capacity or expertise to work out where to start
- already use AI tools somewhat haphazardly day to day, and want to capture the real gains
- have systems and data they want to connect more intelligently, without building everything from scratch themselves
- want a partner they can turn to for advice — not just a supplier of a single project
Questions and answers
Frequently asked questions
The questions we hear most often when businesses consider adopting AI — answered as concretely as we can, without the sales pitch.
Can we hire developers through Kodetank for our own development project?
Yes. Kodetank provides experienced developers specialising in AI-first development, from our own offices in Bangkok, Thailand and Colombo, Sri Lanka. You can hire by the hour when demand varies, or a dedicated developer for a fixed period — typically one or three months. Kodetank AS is the Norwegian contracting party, and all follow-up is handled from Norway. What gets built, you own: concept, source code and all rights belong to you in full.
What is AI-first development — and why is it so much cheaper?
AI-first development means AI tools do most of the actual coding, while an experienced developer directs, architects and quality-assures what is produced. It changes the maths completely: a project that just a year ago required a full development team over many months can today be delivered by one or two experienced resources who have mastered this way of working. Combined with the resources being based in low-cost countries, development cost can often be reduced by up to 90% compared with traditional development — without sacrificing quality, because the bottleneck was never typing speed but the experience of the person in charge.
Who owns the code and the concept when we hire development resources?
You do — one hundred percent. Everything developed in the project belongs to you: the concept, the source code, the data and all intellectual property rights. You are not left with a licence, a subscription or vendor lock-in, but with a product you are free to develop further, sell or have others continue working on. This is contractually agreed from the start, with Kodetank AS as the Norwegian contracting party.
Do we need to know what we want AI for before getting in touch?
No — and hardly anyone does. Most of the businesses we talk to know they should do something about AI, but not exactly what, let alone where to start. That is precisely what the initial assessment solves: we go through your processes, systems and data together with you and come back with 2–3 concrete proposals for where AI actually makes a difference — rather than you having to work it out on your own. If you already have an idea or a specific problem you want to solve, that’s a great starting point, but it is not a prerequisite for getting in touch.
Can we use AI without sending data outside the company?
Yes, and for many of our clients this is the deal-breaker that decides whether AI is an option at all. We set up AI that runs locally on your own hardware or in your own server room — then no documents reach the internet, and nothing is sent to or used to train anyone else’s models. The solution also works without an internet connection. That makes AI viable for organisations bound by confidentiality, trade secrets or strict privacy requirements, which would otherwise have to say no to anything involving an external cloud provider. Making this work well — the right model, the right hardware, a secure connection to your own systems — is precisely the kind of job that requires experience in coding and operations.
Is this only for large companies with their own IT department?
No — quite the opposite. Kodetank is built precisely for businesses that don’t have their own development environment or an in-house IT department to do the job themselves. We come in, assess, build and train, and we take responsibility for making sure what is delivered actually works in production — you don’t need to hire anyone or build internal expertise to get started. If you do have an IT department, we are happy to work alongside it rather than in competition with it.
How long before we see results?
We always recommend starting with one well-defined pilot rather than a large project from day one. A typical pilot is designed so the gain — time saved, faster case handling, fewer manual steps — is visible and measurable within weeks, not months. That gives you a concrete basis for deciding whether to invest further, instead of having to trust a promise of results far into the future. Full-scale roll-out and staff training come only after the pilot has proven itself.
Does this replace employees, or lead to redundancies?
Our goal is not to remove people, but to remove the routine work that steals their time. Most businesses we work with have more than enough tasks that require a human — judgement, customer contact, professional discretion — but employees don’t get to them because their time goes on looking up information, rewriting reports or filling in the same form over and over again. That is the kind of work AI should take over, so that people’s time is spent where it actually makes a difference.
What sets Kodetank apart from just using ChatGPT or Copilot ourselves?
Nothing stops you from using ChatGPT or Copilot for individual tasks today — and by all means carry on. The difference is that a chat window doesn’t know your systems, your data or your routines, and it ends up as a standalone tool a handful of employees use somewhat randomly. Kodetank connects AI to what you actually have: the line-of-business system, the customer database, the case archive, the report templates — with the right permissions, error handling and a solution that can cope with the business changing. That is the difference between trying AI and building something that lasts and is actually run in production.
What kinds of tasks are actually suited to AI in our business?
The short answer: tasks with a lot of repetition, a lot of text or a lot of data, and where the rules for what counts as “correct” can be described — even if they are complicated. Typical examples are case handling with fixed criteria, drafting proposals and reports from known templates, sorting and categorising enquiries, and summarising large volumes of documents. Tasks that require unique judgement in every single case, strong human contact, or where the consequences of an error are very serious, should as a rule still be done — or checked — by a human. This very assessment is the heart of the initial review: we point out where AI gives the most return, and are just as clear about where it doesn’t.
How much does it cost, and are we tied into anything long-term?
We don’t work with fixed package prices, because needs vary too much from business to business. The initial conversation and assessment are free of obligation, and we always give you a concrete quote before anything is built — you know what you are signing up for before you decide. Most start with a well-defined pilot rather than a large, long-term contract, precisely to keep the risk low for both parties. If you want ongoing support afterwards, that is agreed separately and can be ended whenever you wish.
What happens when we need to change or extend the solution later?
That is part of the agreement, not a separate project every time. Businesses change — new systems are adopted, routines change, data volumes grow — and an AI solution that can’t cope with that quickly becomes outdated or expensive to maintain. We therefore build with further development in mind from the start, and stay on as a technical and business sparring partner after the solution goes live, so adjustments can be made quickly when the need arises.
Why are 30 years of coding experience relevant when we are just buying consultancy?
Because what decides whether an AI solution works in practice is rarely the language model itself — it’s everything around it. Where does the data come from, and can we trust its quality? How is the solution securely connected to the systems you already use? What happens with error handling, logging and access control when something goes wrong? And can the solution cope with the business growing and changing? These are the same questions experienced developers were working on long before generative AI existed, and they make the difference between an impressive demo and something that can actually be run over time. That experience is the very foundation of the advice and solutions Kodetank delivers, even though what you receive is consultancy and finished solutions, not code you have to deal with yourself.
